I recently attended a math training where I learned about subitizing cards! Although I didn’t know what we were talking about initially, I jumped right on board when I realized what “subitizing” meant!
Basically, students work to quickly and automatically recognize the number of objects in a group without actually counting them!  Typically black dots are used, but for this back-to-school season, I opted for apples!
To use these cards, students can either work independently (great for at-home learning) or with a partner to practice recognizing the number of apples on each card.
I made sure to use dice patterns to keep it consistent.  Many of the cards have two dice patterns on them for students to mentally add together.
I plan to use this as a math workstation in my first grade classroom and I hope to add more subitizing cards to it as the year goes on!
Make sure to follow my Teachers Pay Teachers store to keep an eye out for more subitizing cards to add later!
