Who doesn’t love ice cream???  I sure do, and I know for a fact that my first grade students do!  
This fun money matching game is super easy to prep and I guarantee that your kids will enjoy it too!
One way you can use these ice cream cones is by having your kiddos match real or pretend money to each cone’s value.  
I’m thinking about just having a baggie of plastic coins and letting my first graders decide for themselves how they want to “pay” for each ice cream cone!  Higher learners could also show two different ways to make each money amount!
Since we are going 1:1 with Chromebooks next year, I think it would be fun to have my students take a picture of their finished product for me to check and then uploading it to Seesaw (an app I love)!  You can find a blog post about Seesaw, HERE.
As an extension activity, kids can order the cones from the least expensive to the most expensive!

  1. Love this! Thank you for sharing. So fun to do at the end of the year when it starts getting hot. That's when we teach money too! Now if we were only 1:1 so I could use SeeSaw like that more. 🙂
